Smile keyboard layout indicator at cursor or..

I change keyboard layouts all the time and i constantly start typing in the wrong language. Is there any way of having the mouse cursor changing whenever the layout is, or even better the flashing vertical line ( | ) (how do you call it?) to change it's shape? I don't care if the solution is going to be difficult.
