Hanyu Pinyin input via Keyboard Indicator applet

I added the Keyboard Indicator applet to the GNOME panel. Just for test purposes, I was able to set it up to switch between English and Russian. Is there a way to add support for Hanyu Pinyin, with automatic conversion to traditional or simplified characters?
