My system is Mepis 6.0, which uses the Ubuntu engine at its heart.
When I do Menu => settings => Appearance & Themes => Screen Saver.. I get an error box..
Quote:
Configure - KDE Control Module
The specified library screensaver could not be found.
The diagnostics is:
libnvidia-tls.so.1: cannot handle TLS data
Possible reasons:- An error occurred during your last KDE upgrade leaving an orphaned control module
- You have old third party modules lying around.
Check these points carefully and try and remove the module mentioned in the error message. if this fails, consider contacting your distributer or packager.

The original screensaver choice (FireWorks GL) actually works OK if I wait out the timeout. The Nvidia driver that provides graphics acceleration for OpenGL apps is installed and works fine. Unless I get a little help, "removing modules" in my case is likely to break more than it fixes. Thanks for any suggestions.
