problem with kde screensaver?

i have kde 3.3,

when I set the screen saver, and click test, it works. but every time the screen switches(automatically, after the set time limit) the screen just goes blank.

i dont know if im missing somethign here. or if there is anywhere else i should check?

I thought at first maybe power saving settings, but its not in there.

Im using fc3 2.6.9-1.667

Ive heard of this being a permissions problem, check /usr/libexec/xscreensaver and make sure you have r-x permissions (chmod 755 file)

that particular file didnt exist...

so i did a find / | grep xscreensaver and found the xscreensaver in

/usr/X11R6/lib/xscreensaver

and all the screen savers in there.

the permissions where already 755

so for poops and giggles i chmod 777 and chown

still no luck

The main problem with the KDE screensaver is that it exists. Set your KDE screensaver to NOT activate, and use xscreensaver instead.
