Is There A Way To Have ~/desktop And Application Icons On The Desktop Whilst


Using Nitrogen as my backdrop manager?

I've honestly never found a good solution to this (my "workaround" was typically to use pcmanfm-qt as my desktop manager), but this was a popular option:

Yeah, I've got idesk installed. I was using xfdesktop (which automatically displays whatever is in ~/desktop) but I've had to stop using it (as well as xfwm4 and xfce4-panel because my mouse clicks kept not being passed to the window manager (I'm currently using Openbox, Tint2 and Nitrogen... So far so good)). I'd like to have those files on my desktop again as I use it as a shortcut.
