How to configure KDM for login chooser

Hello ALL,

Thanks for your help!

When my SUSE 10.0 machine boots it comes up with the startard SUSE login screen with the users out to the left and the login fields to the right.Since I am the only user of this particular machine I don't want.
However , I do need is the login screen to display a login chooser instead either configured to query or broadcast and I want my own system to be included in the list since it is also running kdm.
This used to be a no brainer back in the old days when only the big boys had X but now there are so many different distros I can't find the answer anywhere. Please Help!!

Thanks a Bunch

Nicholas

if you are using KDE its easy.

go into kde control centre then into sys admin folder and then to
login manager.

go into admin. mode with root passwd and there are 2 tabs on mine of interest.

1) convenience is the one that will allow either auto login...or preselect an user and then focus the prompt on the password line or have passwdless logins....you catch on?

2) but as I am not sure what you mean by broadcast.....it might be that you mean the tab called select users?

here I inverse select....gives me just the ones I want when I choose from the list on the right well you have only 5050 chance of getting it right or wrong so if you also have auto shutdown....deselect that in the other tab called

kde components sesstion manager and just until you get it right choose default of end session

good luck
