Question Centos 7 cannot install virtualbox drivers

Im running CentOS 7 kernel: 4.16.13

I installed gcc, make, perl as said to the error
also installed kernel-ml-headers and kernel-ml-devel via elrepo

yet still /sbin/vboxconfig throws me error: "Please install the Linux kernel "header" files matching the current kernel"

I am currently in 4.16.13 kernel.

installed headers and devel:
kernel-ml-devel-4.16.13-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64
kernel-ml-headers-4.16.13-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64

thanks!

Can you post the output of the following command:

Code:
yum list installed kernel-ml*
Use CODE tags when you do.

There should be more than that, I need to see which kernel-ml version you have installed for the running kernel - not just the devel and headers packages. That's why I asked you to post the command above.

It should look something like the following (but quite possibly different versions to mine);

Code:
kernel-ml.x86_64 4.16.2-1.el7.elrepo @elrepo-kernel
kernel-ml-devel.x86_64 4.16.2-1.el7.elrepo @elrepo-kernel
kernel-ml-doc.noarch 4.16.2-1.el7.elrepo @elrepo-kernel
kernel-ml-headers.x86_64 4.16.2-1.el7.elrepo @elrepo-kernel
kernel-ml-tools.x86_64 4.16.2-1.el7.elrepo @elrepo-kernel
kernel-ml-tools-libs.x86_64 4.16.2-1.el7.elrepo @elrepo-kernel
kernel-ml-tools-libs-devel.x86_64
Please re-post the complete output, not just part of it. If that's all of it, then the error message you're getting means you have a different version of the kernel package itself installed to the devel and headers packages - which therefore would explain the error message you're getting. In that case, as you're error message says; you need to install matching versions of the kernel package itself as well as the same version of the kernel devel and headers packages, so they all match for the version.
