I did some wrong manipulation with my keyboard and all icons on my Kdesktop disapear. Just I can see application bar (kickoff, two virtual desktop icons, ...) . I cant remember what I did exactly. It is very strange why they disappear while graphics components are locked then theorically they cant be erased. Could s'one tell me how to repair it. My be I shift the display then they are hidden. I dont know. I am with slackware 14.1 release.
As root, create a new user using the adduser command.
Log in as a new user. Check the icons work properly for the new user.
If they do, log back in as original user and delete the hidden ~/.kde directory where the KDE configuration settings are stored. Log out, then log back in, and the ~/.kde directory should be recreated at default values. If you have not made extensive changes to you KDE settings, this would likely be the easiest choice. Alternatively, you could try copying the settings from new user to original user, one file at a time, until you find which particular file is the culprit (you would likely have to do this as root, and then change the ownership of the copied files as necessary).
If the icons do not work properly for new user, you have something more serious going on.

Thanks.
Did you accidently switch to another activity?
You can right click on a blank space on your desktop and then left click on "Activities" or,
if you have a keyboard with a "ms-windows key" (has a ms-windows logo on it and is usually
next to, or close to, the space bar), hold down the that key and then hit the tab key. That will switch "activities."
