Post Wish me luck, Im taking CLP on august 31st and my drivers license on september 1st..

Im in over my head, trying to take two exams in one week. I must be crazy.
Those of you who know me know that I work as a Novell CNI, and now it's time for me to go up on the CLP practicum.
I have never felt more unprepared for a test, so next week I am devoting three days to practicing the objectives, hoping that it will get me ready. I also have the official course materials with all the practices, maybe that will help a lot.

I really have no idea what to expect, I dont know anyone who has taken the practicum but I managed to find out that it relies on java and Flash (and a less than stable network).

If anyone here has the time to give me pointers I would appreciate it.

I dont speak VI, is Pico or even Kate available?
are you allowed to change the keyboard layout during the test?
Do you get the results right after the test?
Should I practice using ncurses Yast? (would I benefit using that instead of the Graphical Yast?)
If someone could write down a mock task to show me the format of the instructions (not with an actual practicum task of course) I would be extremely happy.

/m

hey, good luck! I don't have a clue, but I can tell you it is pretty easy to learn the basics of vi(m). Why not try to find a begginers tutorial on it?
http://webmonkey.wired.com/webmonkey/97/37/index1a.html?tw=backend
thats the first link I found... hope it's ok. If you do that, and it takes say 30 minutes to do, then atleast your prepared for the worst (or best some would argue).

Hi,

I was searching for the Novell CLP certification details, i saw your post. Sir, Can you give me some tips on the exam, like what is the prep level needed? what kind of questions to expect?

It will be a great help.

Best wishes,

athreya
