Lindows...in the shadows?

Has anyone heard anything about Lindows lately....I was watching tech tv (G4Tech Tv) one day and they mentioned it on the screensaver, leo was excited and couldn't stop talking about it.

After that I never heard anything else about it...I mean its suppose to look and act like windows but with the KDE advantages and it being open source...honestly its just another version of KDE with its ups and downs and tux still resides in the coding of the distro, so...whats the big deal?

Maybe you've not heard about it because it changed it's name to LinSpire a good long while ago now?

And just to prove that it's name has changed, I have moved your thread to the correct forum. Lindows is the name of the company, Linspire the distro.

XavierP,

Actually since then there have been further changes.

After the deal whereby Microsoft bought the name of Lindows as a product (shows that they were getting worried imho) was formalised, the company name also changed.

Don't quote me specific details but I theenk it is now Linspire.com, Inc

What a mouthful lol!

And Microsoft also bought the domain of lindows.com but I've noticed they are dragging their feet with no transfers done yet, because there is still a redirect from lindows.com to linspire.com

Here is the result of a whois I made within the last couple of minutes at geektools about the domain:
