Gentoo X11 installation

Hi!
I'm going to installing X-server on my gentoo installation.
And I have a question: does xorg-server package contains video drivers?
If yes, how to select the driver that emerge would install? make.conf contains VIDEO_DRIVER= option. Is it enough? Do I need to specify additional options (such as what driver I need to install)?

Thanks!

P.S.
Are there some options that helps to minimize the X-server packages count? I need a lightweight installation.

Yes, calling emerge xorg-server will include the drivers you specified in make.conf.

The option actually is VIDEO_CARDS="", not VIDEO_DRIVERS=""...

For checking you can use emerge -a xorg-server to show you the USE flags activated and deactivated and also show you the drivers that will be installed.

xorg-server doesn't include drivers itself, but they will be pushed into your system as dependencies depending on how you configure the VIDEO_CARDS variable. Nowadays you shouldn't need much manual configuration unless you are using a closed driver or a multicard setup. There are a few other corner cases.
