gentoo install-minimal iso stuck at (none) Login:

I am trying to install gentoo.
I downloaded install-x86-minimal-20130528.iso and made bootable USB using
dd if=*.iso of=/dev/sdb

But when I reboot machine and boot from usb, the screen stop at
Code:
(none) Login:
instead of
Quote:
livecd: #
at the end,
scanning hardwares...
loading keymaps...
mounting...
etc...
and everything went well before the end as expected though.
I am stucking in that black screen login page.

I don't know how to login because I have yet install even a piece of file.

Please help me!

I have tried with another USB stick and many times.
And I also tried on netbook and Desktop as well.
Gentoo bootable USB ends up
Quote:
(none) login:
on both of Desktop and netbook.
so, still missing something...

I burned same iso to CD and it is ok on Desktop. (Netbook no cdrom)

the problem I am having with is bootable USB.

Please anyone help or advice me any...

I am trying to install Gentoo on Asus netboot with no cdrom.
So, bootable USB is essential for me.

Sorry for the late reply, I am having trouble finding time to act in the forums lately.

But, to put it easy, usb are always a problem. And so are cdroms really. It depends on the concrete livecd and the concrete machine you are using.

There's good news though: you don't actually need a gentoo live media to install gentoo. You can use ANY livecd or live usb that works for you. Nothing from the live media goes into the final system. You just need a way to boot a linux OS and an internet connection.

and me too
sorry for my late reply...

actually, I have successfully installed Gentoo base system on my old desktop using CD.
but xorg and lxde (DE I want) are not install yet.
Now I am having some problem to install them.
I think, I would post another thread...
pls, keep helping me...

btw, Gentoo handbook and wiki pages mention a lot of choices and about what-if
it's good
but
they really confuse me...
