Anyone here suggest any late 80s early 90s piano melodies/old school tracks... i know this is absolutly nothing to do with computers, but ur all sound people (well most anyway) and it is the general forum... lol.
im a DJ, and trying to put together some good tracks for an old school mix i wanna make,
Only pop/rock pianists to hit it big during that period (that I can recall) are Bruce Hornsby with "The Way It Is" and Billy Joel with "We Didn't Start The Fire".
There was also a guy called Joshua Kaddison ( spelling ? ) he sounded a bit like Elton John in his early days, wasn't too bad either - didn't last long though ...
Billy Joel's early stuff was OK but he became a little too self-important by the time he did "we didnt start the fire"
"Us and them" by Pink Floyd is a nice piano ( with Sax ) based number
Eric B and Rakim - My Melody
Treacherous Three - New Rap Language
Steady B - Bring that beat back
Stetasonic - Just say Stet
Schooly D - Gucci Time
Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five - The Message
Just Ice - Going Way Back
Boogie Down Productions - The South Bronx
Run DMC - My Adidas
okay they're all old school rap tracks but thats what I think of when you said old school
when i said piano melodies, i meant trance, ravey type stuff - i know the stuff that basically has lots of piano in it but it wasnt exclusive to that.... haha, but im radio presenter too, so knowing popular tracks is always good. Thanks again for input.
lol
