Rsync homework from school to home, and home to school

Hi I would like to sync my homework directories at school with the one at home. I need to be able to grab the latest copy from my server when I'm at school and then before I leave update the master at home. I have it working one way, pulling from home to school but how do I put updates back to the server? Also I had auth setup but it never asked me for the username just password, how do I use authentication? One last thing, if the master (home) could have incremental changes that would be great. Maybe I need to use CVS? I dunno.

Take a look at this tutorial:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ticle&artid=80

It shows you how to use rsync with ssh to make sure it is a secure transfer.

Cool true replication, both ways

Rsync is great, no doubt.

But for the ones of you that look for real, two-way back and forth syncronisation should look at a marvelous tool called UNISON which does exactly that.

Very little people seem to know about it and this is one sad problem of OSS:
many great tools exist, but people looking for them don't know they exist and what they are called.

I wish I would have read THIS post half a year ago ;-)

Cheers

Markus
