I was talking about the person referred to by the OP.

I thought it said "she" but I looked again and it says "he".

It's the same way in Windows though. I remember getting this error message once:

WARNING: General Failure reading Hard Drive
And I thought, "Who the heck is General Failure and why is he reading my hard drive?!"

Army ??? sounds like our Parliament

a bunch of dicks running around smacking themselves on their arses
borking things all over the place
frightening the citizens
and nothing works

This is ridiculous. It's "Kernel", with a K, and it is called so because it is at the heart of the OS. It's the very thing designed to take advantage of the hardware to allow the OS to start booting.

Think of it this way: A seed "kernel" is the part of the seed that stores the food and embryo in the seed, allowing it to sprout, right? Similarly, an OS kernel is the very set of applications and drivers that grows into the plant, the operating system. Without it, an OS would just be an application suite.

Thanks for that information, Kenny. But I think most of us are aware of the difference between a colonel and a kernel.

It's a PUN, Kenny! A play on words. Re-read the thread... and if that doesn't work,

Code:
apt-get install sense-of-humor
