What I wish for is a better release philosphy. When they are complete with an OS, that is when they should release. I guess it is okay to leave some stuff out, but not doing the top five selling points is ridiculous. I have heard stories about a suit-induced release that was too early and led to doubling of their bugs. An open Bugzilla might help too. Maybe if we see that the bugs are being fixed, we won't be so hard on them. Saying that they are unfixable without breaking something else is okay too. I wish they would open their Bug tracker and Requiments website to gain our trust that they are trying.

You know what I agree I would love to see a Bug tracker system afterall they have this stupid error reporting system it would be cool to see what kinda bugs they are currently tackling or possible solutions other users have came up with (i.e. was it simply a driver issue or is a windows vs. software conflict)

I completely disagree with this. Windows 95 was better than 3.1. Windows 98 was better than 95. Well... ME sucked worse than anything, but that was one glitch, but Windows 2000 was better than 98. And Windows XP is the best Windows so far. I've never experienced the "blue screen of death" in Windows XP. I happen to think Windows XP is an excellent OS. If it was easily customizable (looks-wise) like Linux (without using third-party applications like Windowblinds that are pay or nagware) and had as much cool free software (sans spyware), I would have never tried Linux. I'd still be using XP. I still do use it for iTunes.

Yeah, XP is pretty good. It is just that theme that bothers me the most, but that can be gotten rid of. I don't really care for my windows desktop to look any other way. You can theme you desktop to some extent, mostly changing all of the colors. As for free software, I always use the windows ports to my favorite linux software whenever possible.

Thats pretty much how I feel. I would love if the XP GUI was as customizable as KDE was. But I had to resort to getting the Stardock Desktop Suite to do stuff like that. Hopefully with Vista and the fact that they made devolper tools not for the GUI we will see a better customization system. But I doubt it.

Äsch, I can go on forever. btw, those things that you can get working manually should be included by default (like multiple desktops or mounting points). And I am not sure how much of these things that are included in Vista.

btw, Megaman: Hallå där, från Dalarna. ;)

So basically you just want linux?

As for software licenses thats not a MS thing thats pretty much an industry thing. But I agree that needs to be changed. Also you are never going to get MS Office for free or even cheap its too much of a money tank for MS.

I have no idea why MS did IE7 that way and I hope they change that.

And for the love of god keep DirectX for games and what not its graphically superior to OpenGL and I like my games looking good.

Vi is available for WIndows, altho I'm not very impressed with it. But there's always Cygwin if you want X windows or any Linux CLI tools. . .
