i have dual boot with win xp
(sometimes i need it)
well it said "virtual memory low" on boot
what the heck.. i was late for presentation in class cause i couldn't copy files to floppy .. lol
this comp is pretty new and i don't run xp much(about 10hours total so far)
what's the deal
anyone had same error msg?
consider increasing your windows swapfile size;
control panel -> system -> advanced -> per-
formance settings -> advanced -> change ->
and then increase your swapfile to 768 min +
768 max; equal to decrease the amount of
swapping. best would be to put it on a sepa-
rate partition, but that's not a necessity.

i disabled the windows 2000 swapfile for a while.
the first time it would try to swap anything out, it would
say out of virtual memory. i had to click ok, and go on.
i gave it a 10 meg swapfile to get it to shut up.

Or you could just make it 1 gig min + max you'll never get the out of swap message again
