Most monitors out there at the moment that are LED are in fact LED backlit. True LED displays are very expensive for the time being.

edit: OK, TigerLinux edited their response (formerly "Samsung BX2431 is not LED monitor"), so mine makes no sense now. Ho hum.
I always hated the way they market LED-backlit LCDs as "LED Monitors". It's so misleading and confusing.

Hi, I use an HP 2510i 25'' 2.5ms at work and an HP 2710M at home, 27'' 2.5ms

I work mainly with graphic apps, requiring high res to capture details, and the ability to grasp the whole without the need to be constantly zooming in and out...

My main Commecial CAD apps are Catia V 15 which runs in my work Server Solaris 10 for Sparc, as well as Blender and BRLCAD for OSS packages... NURBS modelling features of Blender "Kick ass" even when comparing to Catia's... some shapes I have to model are less "mechanical" and more "organic" ( think of parametring the radius of fillets in wing fairings of airplanes and exporting the whole shape as a high reslution stl file... no way I can automate this in Catia, in Blender it is s simple Python script... )

At home I run my G@3Mz, my MuvZ, my MuZikZ and some work... the g@3Mz i run at home are highly graphical... AOE 3, Warcraft 3, Red Alert 3, FlightGear, X-Plane, will buy Civ 5, as well as Battlestations Pacific, my graphical work apps at home are ProEngineer, BRLCAD and Blender.

I think my monitors do the job allright...

Yeah, I was actually covinced that they meant the pixels/subpixels were LEDs until I actually read a little more...I was disappointed.

As for me: Gateway HD1900 19" widescreen WSXGA (1440x900) on my main desktop.

LED back-lit and True LED monitor are difference,
in the current market, mostly are LED-backlit,
true LED is very expensive.
In malaysia, a 23" LED-backlit monitor cost about 180 USD.
I hope to get one when have money.
