I got banned from the website. I'm telling you, the mods, or atlease the one that banned me, are/is a jerk. Well, I like the people/atmosphere here anyway. I still feel guilty for getting banned tho. It makes you feel kinda bad inside, even for something you didn't do/mean to. Well, whatever, one less forum to checkup on.
Don't worry. I once got banned from another Linux forum for no fault of mine because an admin of a certain other forum where I was a member had spammed them and they assumed that I was in it. I hardly had one or two posts there, so it didn't matter anyway.
But it is a nasty feeling to get banned. Just stop visiting that site and pretend it never existed.
Well, this has been bugging me, so I email them w/ the only link im allowed to access, the contact link. I mailed them some nice words, to see If I can get back on. I find reading the news, predictions, ideas, and chat really fun on the site.
I have a question, what are these "My Tags" things for? Is it so I can add posts I like?
If you want to get back, obviously you'll have to swallow your pride and apologise even if you knew you were in the right and they had treated you badly.
Two very simple words that it took me years to get the hang of----
Walk away.
Oh, and it doesn't hurt to talk to the admin if they'll listen. Aside from the rare power-tripper, admins generally don't want to kick people off their site, they just want peace. So apologize, and remember that if they take you off the ban list you'll be on probation, so behave better than you have to!
Well, this things happens all that I can do is try to "talk" with the person like "humans" do, but not always it can be done, in those cases, I just go away and End.
I'm Administrator of another forum and sometimes we'd have problems with users but the important is trying to get a deal not get out from the website that users
Sometimes is difficult, sometimes we can arrange deals but I think that bann a user is the last option we could use. In other cases, the problem is that Mods, Admin an so on, forget what's the duty of a forum, just help for vocation and the feel of sharing acknowledgment
In any case, there's a lots forums on the web, if one of those doesn't feel your spectatives, just seek another where you feel confortable ;-)
easier said than done Believe me, I've tried, many a time.
But I'd have to agree, getting in flamewars is stupid. I accidentally said something in a thread here that was for flaming, and it triggered something in one of the other members, and two other people kind of went off on each other. I was not a participant at all, except for the initial post. I stopped replying to that thread, because I didn't want to participate. That thread eventually got closed. Eventually, I'm sure everyone will participate in some form of flaming, just actively attempt to stay away.
When I was a very small child in my first week at public school I encountered other humans beings who despised me. My grandfather gave me a small sermon that has stuck with me all of my life.
He told me that I can not do anything about bad weather because no one can control the weather. He also told me that I can not do anything about the way other people feel about me. If I have to go out into a snow storm I have to dress warmly to protect myself. If people hate me; I have to learn to not allow that hate to determine who or what I am inside of my soul. Hate, like Love, should not be trivialized!!
No one gets along with everyone else. Human beings are very complex as well as being very fragile. We can and do step on each others toes unaware of the pain we have caused.
If you walk past a fenced in yard and a dog barks at you as you walk past its territory it would be futile to try and communicate anything to the dog. When you leave the dog's territory it will stop barking at you and both of you can resume your lives.
I have not been on the Internet for very long but I have left two forums because my positions have brought unhealthy debate. It was not a question of right or wrong; it was a question of knowledge, understanding, and experience that caused the rift.
I do not have any idea what caused the rift or your expulsion but I would advise you to let it go and move on. A highly emotional state prevents rational thought. The passage of time may help you to understand and analyze just what happened.

Hah! I got banned (another unmentionable linux site) for posting a link to a google search for Daryl McBride. Can you believe the Master Mod said they might be liable and told me not to post it again so I stuck it in my sig Ha! Liable for a google search?
Oops Tornado warning! Gotta go to the basement! Again.
OK I'm back. Stupid Dopplar Radar and rotating super cells! The sirens go off too much now days. I'm afraid were on the verge of "the boy who cried wolf" syndrome here.
When I was a very small child in my first week at public school I encountered other humans beings who despised me. My grandfather gave me a small sermon that has stuck with me all of my life....
Given the eloquence and thoughtful reason behind your discourse, I find it difficult to understand where is would be possible for your input to be banned.
Wait a minute, now I can imagine one. A place where the thoughts and ideas expressed and evoked as "true" and "right" and "unquestioned" are also - obviously - wrong.
You should be glad you no longer participate in a one-sided conversation where everyone just pats themselves on the back telling themselves how right they are. You should also be proud of being banned for bringing their bigotry to light. That is not"unhealthy debate".
I would be concerned over a physical or face-to-face dispute.
I'm involved in a thread elsewhere where a member is trying to bait me but I will not respond and he is getting frustrated. Like someone else said just ignore it and it will go away.
