" I drive to work in an a car that is big enough to serve its purpurse and small enough to not harm the the enviroment too much, and I have to put up with snob wives driving 4x4 to the school and then to the bank, when they can just drive minis, or get on a bus. I have to put up with their incessant fumes, in the same way I expect anyone to put up with mine."

its funny how you can drive a tank down the street in london, but you cant smoke or own a gun.

i tried to convince my parents to get a Toyota PRUIS, but they opted for the bwm that costs twice as much, dosent have a navigation system or bluetooth, no keyless entry, half the gas mileage, less legroom, whatever.

i wanted to put linux on it. it has 4 computers, im sure one of them wouldve worked. i dunno about kde though...

anyway, smoking sucks, and so do SUV's.

it takes countries like the UK and France to scharge an arm and a leg for gas in order to get people to conserve it. meanwhile, in the kalifornian suburbs, people are driving down the street at 35mph in giant 400hp trucks with 4 wheel steering at 12mpg. on the other hand, in hte UK people drive little mercedes and peugeots or whatever that get much higher gas mileage and are better for the environment. i dont think thats fair.

That is as offensive as it is stupid.
People do not get lung cancer because they are old, they get it because they are exposed to carcinogens.

And regarding this rubbish
"
If I sacrifice my freedom and my life to survive in this world, because at times I would die if I did not have a drug to reduce the stress made from your lives conflicting with mine, then it is fair that I return the damage done to me by throwing batteries in the thames, ignoring pedestrians and hoping that one day some meteor will strike the houses of parliment and then I can drive without paying the congestion charge, parking without the parking charge, crossing a bridge without the bridge tax and living my life without having to pay those richer than me money.
"

Do you think only smokers pay income tax etc ? I live in London too, I am sorry that you are so weak willed that you can not survive without taking drugs,it must be awful to be unable to cope without medicine.
However, you could get your nicotine fix from something else eg a nicotine inhaler without harming others.

Sorry, I was upset about ignorant (Hades Thunder did not know the facts) on my relatives.
Although unfortunately this debate always end up getting personal because blowing smoke in someone's face is a personal attack.
Smokers always think their rights are greater than others, which is why 3 years AFTER smoking was banned on the London underground a smoker accidently started a fire that killed 47 people.

Well of course they are going to ban killing, the less people that are alive to buy cigarettes means less taxes, until they die of cancer.
