Just installed Mitel Networks SME Server 6.0.
I cant believe it was sooo easy.
Installed without hitch on Pentium II 350 with 4 G HDD and 186 M Ram.
Took less than an hour to install and do basic configuration.
Very cool.
Now I just got to find a use for it, but thats not the point !
Must be worth at least 10 geek points to set up your own server.
Anyway SME 6 comes with I-bays which I think will be useful.
Currently our home network is all peer to peer anyway but in the future I'll set up an internal mail, finish off the I-bays etc etc.
Mine is configured as server only as I already have a Smoothwall firewall. Future plans will be a web server when we go broadband.
Totally cool, and very easy to install and configure. Admin is done via a web browser on a second machine and is very easy to do.
The documentation is very good.
A good server distro for the entry level server, I dont know how well it would scale up though.
