I have just recently installed it to test it out as a web server so I haven't really played with it much.
Yes, it will take your whole harddrive. You don't get any options to partition it yourself or only install it on part of the drive, so it has to go on a machine with nothing else on it that you want to keep.
As for configuring, it sets up the basic stuff for you on install and then has a simple admin menu you can use to go in and edit stuff. You can also get into a linux prompt from the admin screen by pressing ctrl-F2 and then you have to login as "root". From there you can do whatever you want.
I have not configured it yet. I have not any plan to confiure it now becz other things is of higher priority, i will do it later and get back here to discuss it with u if u want.
