SME sever


Does any one here configure SME mail server.

if yes , how it is(related to security and configuration and other features.....)
how to configure it.

If will install it does it will remove all the data from hard disk ! (I had heard somewhere about it !)

I have just recently installed it to test it out as a web server so I haven't really played with it much.

Yes, it will take your whole harddrive. You don't get any options to partition it yourself or only install it on part of the drive, so it has to go on a machine with nothing else on it that you want to keep.

As for configuring, it sets up the basic stuff for you on install and then has a simple admin menu you can use to go in and edit stuff. You can also get into a linux prompt from the admin screen by pressing ctrl-F2 and then you have to login as "root". From there you can do whatever you want.

np, i hope to learn more about this as i go along.

btw, it is not ctrl-F2 as I said earlier it is ALT-F2 to get to the linux prompt. dun wanna confuse anyone...

I have not configured it yet. I have not any plan to confiure it now becz other things is of higher priority, i will do it later and get back here to discuss it with u if u want.
