replace PIII with PIII mobile in laptop

I have a clevo 2200T PIII 1.13ghz laptop that I have setup with FC4 and planetccrma for mobile recording at the school I work at. It came with a desktop PIII processor, which is fast for what I want it to do. Unfortunately it also generates a lot of heat, and noise (with the fan running full on).

Is it possible to replace the original processor with a mobile PIII processor?

The first thing I would do is make sure there's no dust in the heatsink, which is a problem I have had with a similar kind of laptop (i.e. one with a desktop cpu). Unless you've already ruled this out of course.

thanks for the input. I will try cleaning out the heatsink.

Since it does work, and is fast for my needs, I'll stick with it.
