PANIC: hard drive failure

holy crap.

my main hard drive, which is a 60 gig with a 30g linux and 30g windows partition has broken. im not sure what happened, but i keep getting partition table errors. i've tried booting with partitionmagic, bootitng, knoppix, mandrake rescue disk, among others, but nothing can read the drive or get anything off of it. what can i do? even though my other drive holds the majority of my data, i still have other sensitive data on this drive that i need. is there any way that i can get to the data??

have you tried to fsck it? Make sure you umount the drive before doing that, at least for the linux partition. also, mount it in knoppix or however, and try to run

hdparm -i /dev/hdx

replacing x with whatever letter it is, of course, and post the results, please
