need a server side pdf merge tool

I need a tool that works on a linux server that merges many pdf files and create a big one.
Are there any tools that read a pdf file and find paper size or used paper size etc?

I'm not sure about finding the sizes but pdftk is pretty good for manipulating and joining pdfs:
