Insanely dumb idea. I could say the dude is a total idiot, but maybe he was drunk or something.
The tatoo is ugly, nonoriginal, and looks like it was painted by a 3 years old using crayons. If you want to make a tatoo, at least make it look better than that. Just google for "tatoo designs" or "japanese tatoo" and compare.
Come on, I mean I wouldn't have any tattoo done to myself, but if I did, this still would be better than tattooing the name of your boyfriend/girlfriend.

I've seen worse. IMO its not as bad as udumbtu logos, or the even lamer 'nerdlife/geeklife', or the 'I couldnt think of anything better' html </head> <body> tats.

Covering a name is easier than covering that mess.....

drowning a bag full of kittens is not as bad as drowning a bag full of babies. doesn't make it right.

That's not the point. Ultimately, I believe most tattoos can be covered or removed, it's just the whole idea in the first place. But then again, it's everyone's personal decision (which is none of my business.)
Tatoos are just ugly... would you wear the same clothes or jewelery all your life? Meh...
If you go and get tux tatooed on your arse, most people won't know what it is. If you get the debian logo tatooed on someone will think you had a nasty accident with a blender, if you get the fedora logo, lots of thick people will come running up to you screaming "OMG UR IN 2 FACEBOOK 2!!!!11111 XXXX".
Plus it goes with you to every job interview and when you're old and grey you have to walk about with that thing in all it's wrinkled up blue/grey glory, until you can afford to get it lasered off or are finally buried with it.

That's biased. Some people use them to cover up skin defects - just google "most tatooed woman".

Although I must agree that tatooing OS logo is a dumb idea - it is possible that OS will be gone within your lifetime.

Also biased. Imagine that you're old and grey and keep thinking that you always wanted a tattoo when you were younger, never had it done, and now it simply won't look good enough. Either way you might regret. Anyway, I heard there is "less permanent" alternative - kinda like painting on the skin that will wash off in a week or two.
Tattoo is a personal choice, but it makes sense to select a more significant/permanent subject than an operating system.
