How to share Ubuntu Desktop using VNC ? *The Wayland problem

Hello,

How to share Ubuntu Desktop using VNC ? *The Wayland problem
X11vnc will not work, and you cannot type:

Code:
export DISPLAY=:0 ; x11vnc
Secondly, tiger is NOT desktop sharing.
You can run VNC from almost anywhere, that includes Ubuntu 20.04, and even a home router with OpenWRT, or docker, with tigervnc-standalone-server or xtightvncserver.

It's not going to share your existing desktop, like x11vnc or tigervnc-scraping-server does, but it will create a new VNC Server that you can connect to using the normal VNC clients - both from the machine itself and from other machines.

Any other ideas using Wayland planet?

Thanks

Kind regards

You should probably cite and quote your source properly: https://askubuntu.com/a/1427691

There are many wayland implementations. What you do and how you do it, depends on what desktop you're running. I believe gnome supports RDP, so if you were using that, you could connect using remmina, but not sure if you can take over a running session. I would suspect not...

Currtently, I use :

On Ubuntu:

Code:

   pkill Xvfb ; sleep 1 ; screen -d -m Xvfb :2 -screen 0 1280x720x16 ; sleep 1 ; export DISPLAY=:2 ; blackbox & xterm & x11vnc &
But,... x11vnc or alike for wayland using those libs would be great...
