Graphic conversion - 50US$ bounty

We are about to release Walter Kraft and the Alien Menace which is the first in a series of various electronic publications released in support of globability.org - a charity working to produce cost-free open source software for the disabled.

Due to events out of our control somebody has "leaked" the payment/ordering page for the publication and ordering and payment is already in progress. We have shut down this part of the site which was under construction for now.

The story was supposed to be released in December but we feel we are forced to find a solution immediately due to the matters at hand, even though we would have liked sticking to the original publishing schedule a lot better.

Thus we are offering a 50 US$ bounty + a free copy of the upcoming publication to the first person who helps us convert the following corel graphic file to a high quality layered* graphic file editable in the Gimp 2.x

*(i.e. text and graphics must be separated - They should be according to the creator of the original file)

We want the work delivered back to us as a PNG file if possible.

Once you are done use the contact form on our page to get in touch with us to arrange the return/uploading details.

Other information:
The graphic file is of corel origin - we are not sure of the exact format as we and several others have been unable to:

a) open the file, other than in a distorted view using irfanview

b) at this very moment to get hold of our graphic artist who has volunteered his effort to support our upcoming publication of Walter Kraft and the Alien Menace.

The file book.zip contains the file book.cdr (3.2Mb) and can be downloaded from our page http://one4charity.com

Anyone interested in lending a hand so we can speed up and execute this open source support project?

Thanks for you interest!

apparently there are no open source ways to open or convert corel draw pictures (cdr), neither netpbm or imagemagic supports the format, and apparently only a few proprietary windows programs supports the format.......... if you really want that picture, go buy corels photo shop program .. i think you might be able to get a trail version and convert the picture that way

I need the conversion done ASAP - Won't have access to a machine where I can install and run Photoshop on until sometime next week so though the suggestion is sound I can't take it up.

But I actually don't care whether Open or Proprietary source programs are used as I would like someone else to take care of my problem and then pay a bounty to solve the problem.

Solved!

Thanks to those showing an interest!

Seems the FTP server had botched the original files - Didn't like the extension apparently.

Maybe not quite open source yet but a binary for Linux nevertheless http://www.xnview.com/ - freeware (for some).
