don't delete thumbnails or cached files - you might want them later

I used to like emptying my browser cache and deleting thumbnails to save space, but now I won't, and would not advise anyone to. They might contain pictures you later wish you had kept. Due to deleting not all my thumbnails and cached files but most of them (I often forgot to), I was left with only a few pictures of my closest friend after she died. Fortunately, her other friends have more, but if I hadn't met them, I'd have only the few.

I guess, but if you kept the pictures in question in the first place it wouldn't matter. I never keep thumbs, but I always make sure to always burn all the pics either to CD or DVD, and maybe make an extra copy just for redundancy.

Plus, I don't think you would get much of a desired result, should you want to print a picture to photo paper using a thumb.

-edit

Sorry about your friend.

Thought I didn't have to...she used Facebook and posted her pictures freely. Most of the time. Not around the time she died.

LOL... not enough coffee yet.

To the OP, how is it that those pictures where in cache only? Wouldn't they still be on the website where you originally viewed them?
