Unhappy chat rooms supported yahoo messenger for linux (suse/ mandriva)


As im suing suse 10.1 n mandriva 2006, and recently i downloaded the yahoo messenger n i didnt find the chat room options, so is there any plugins r codecs avail. so that installing it will add an menu option for accesing chat room s of yahoo n webcame accessibility features if so plz give me the link r is there any software avail. which is similar to the yahoo messneger n supportin the chat room options n webcam too.

Not sure about webcam support, but I know GAIM will handle the rest.

Y! Messenger Help

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but I am having issues with Yahoo messenger. I have downloaded the RPM and installed it per the instructions. I get a login screen, but when I go to join a room, it only asks for a room name, and doesn't allow me to search for rooms. I'd like help from anyone who'se (SP?) got yahoo mesenger running to help if they have the time. Running kernel 2.6.13 right now. Thanks, Jason

sorry friends it was a typing mistake as it should be using.
Well still i didnt get any solution to the chat room enabling for yahoo messengers even on gaim it doesnt work as it works on windows versions of yahoo messenger.

oh well thanks, regarding the chat room option i figured it out on gaim and its working fine now.
