Change default page in hosting

Greetins

I have a page hosted somewhere and i want to change that when you put the URL for the page instead of loading the index.html file that i have in my "public", it changes the index.html i have in another folder called "httdocs".

I know this can be changed in the .htaccess file, but i don't have access to it.

What can i do?

If I get you right, what you need to do is change DocumentRoot.
But you need to be more specific, I'm pretty much guessing here!

I fixed it. I just enter to my hosting control panel and did a re-direction, that was all i needed to do.
