Just thought I'd share this story with you real quick...I got a pretty big laugh out of it... I read this list somewhere on line, and at the end it said, "Can you think of anymore? Post your comments".
Anyway, some guy wrote in, kinda being a hard ass I think, saying something along the lines of "mv windows /dev/null would actually overwrite a directory and remove a device node and yada yada yada".....
So about 5 comments later someone else wrote in and said "#16 - You argue what mv windows /dev/null really means".
Again, just thought I'd share that, I thought that was hilarious!
...Well I don't actually have a home page in my firefox settings but my top four bookmarks read
1 Wikipedia
2 Wikibooks
3 Linux Questions
4 ers's home page
My mum gets confused in windows because she learnt her basic computer skills with KDE. I know what Ubuntu means and I know that there is (coincidently) an "Ubuntu Cola", I don't have the money to buy most of the above but I have the 2007 Linux Bible and a second hand copy of Linux in a nutshell. When I go on holiday I take a usb stick and a few live disk just in case (and a copy of Linux Journal).
And yet I'm not an addict... I'm addicted to computers and Linux is the best that I've met!
Edit:
Not just basic computing, Mum is a photographer and uses the GIMP, UFRaw and ShowFoto for work. Windows just wouldn't cut it for her.

Reason: Forgot to say
Guilty of 1,3,5,10,11,13,14,15. Well, actually ... with some caveats.
1. I carry my CDs everywhere I go. Not just my Linux, but my entire software library, which includes Linux and non-Linux stuff.
2. I've recommended Linux to a number of people who are disenchanted with their other OS. No one has bitten yet.
6. With my guidance, my mother says she'll try Linux on her next OS reinstall. She's not techie, but she is open-minded.
I would say it's blasphemy to use Gates and Linus in the same sentence. I would even say it's blasphemy not to use Gate$ instead of Gates, and M$, and Window$, Vi$ta, and everything that has to do with them must be branded with a $, because that's the ONLY thing they care about and will ever care about. You may find it silly, but the world is much more silly, which overrules this.
What do you expect them to do? They're a corporation owned by shareholders, and shareholders don't give a $hit about gouging consumers or ethics or the environment or anything other than making sure the stock price go up. I say don't blame microsoft for being microsoft, they're doing exactly what every other corporation with a monopolistic position does....
Yeah, well they must be stopped, along with ever other corporation that does this kinda $hit, like $ony for example, but only recently. They used to be a rather decent corporation. I guess bad management got the best of them. Down with the evil empire !
