Unable to update software after Core 5 upgrade

I just finished installing Fedora Core 5 from 5 cds and everything went well. I wanted to upgrade everything since some updates are available since the cds were made. I tried the new "Software Updater" choice from the Menu->Sytem Tools->Software Updater selection and after providing the root password, it responded "Unable to Retrieve Update Information". I am using SElinux targeted policy which permitted upgrades in the past. Is there something else I should be aware of?

that updater is probably pirut, and it's is seriously horrible... use yumex or just yum directly from the console and see how you get on with that. if you can't do a "yum install some_package" from a command line, show us the errors.

I think Pirut is on Application->Add/Remove software, its quite normal application , oldoat is experiencing problems with pup. And question by the way, is there something to do with pirut not to use yum? I want to install some packages from CD´s and don´t want to waste my traffic on it..
