It sounds like grub was not installed in the MBR of the primary hard drive.

GRUB config issue?

Just installed FC6 today, all went well until I rebooted - GRUB gives me error 15 which appears to be a partition issue (i.e. incomplete info) - I noticed after booting into rescue mode that /boot/grub/grub.conf DID NOT exist (I chose the default partition layout suggested by FC6, using /dev/hdb1 as a 100MB boot partition and the rest of that drive as a logical volume.

Going to keep searching, just thought I'd post this in the event someone else has run into..

Similar problem. I installed Fedora Core % on a Dyual Boot machine with Windows on the Primary and Fedora on the slave derive. Everything went fine. When I rebooted I get teh grub command mode screen. I do not get the Menu mode. As I know nothing about GRUB commands.. some problem! How do I get into the menu mode. I tried control, esc and just c. Does not work. Can some one suggest a solution?
Thanks

I just installed Fedora Core 6, and the installation went fine, but it doesn't boot.

When I cut on the computer all I get is a flashing underscore.

Fedora 7

Ended up ditching this and installing Fedora 7, problem solved. Might wanna try that even though it's still in beta. Never did find a fix for this...
