Do you already have a linux Distribution installed
because fedora does not support images located in a logical volume manager
managed partition.(only vfat of ext2 or ex3 file systems are supported)

O'reilly has a very good book on Fedora Linux written by Chris Tyler. There is a free sample chapter of the book (pdf file) in O'reilly website. It talks about installing Fedora using various media, such as CD, DVD, USB drive and harddrive.

Get it from there

Hope this help!

Difficult to say why the installation stopped with the information provided.

At stated the ISO files can only be in a FAT, ext2 or ext3 filesystem. Assuming D is a windows partition what is its filesystem?
