Installation problem

Im running an AMD 64 san diego 3700+ on a MSI RS480m2-il mobo (i tried to post a link, but it said i didnt have enough posts to do that, sorry.) I have 1 gig corsair xms ram, a sata internal hd and a usb external hd. At this point, im willing to install to either one. I would prefer dedicating the entire external to linux, but if i have to ill install it on the internal then just use the external for storage.
Anyway, i boot with the fedora core 4-64 bit dvd, hit "enter" to get to the installation, then during the init, it says "disabling irq 201" and doesnt do anything else.
Id really like to get this up and running. Any help would be most appreciated. If you need more box info, id be happy to provide it.
thanks in advance.

I'm don't know much about Fedora (I switched from RedHat to SuSE some time ago...) but I would imagine that during the install, you should disconnect your external hdd and let fedora install on your internal drive. I would check the HCL to see if your hardware is supported (it may not have been added yet). Also check the RedHat site for advice.

Once you've got fedora up and running, try connecting your USB drive.

As I said, I'm by no means an expert, but hopefully this will help a bit

I actually dont have it connected at the moment in case it was interfering with something. Its still giving me the error message : (

anyway - the last few lines of the error message read:
running install...
running /sbin/loader
disabling irq #201

then it does nothing. Its not completely frozen cuz when i do a three finger salute, it halts the system before restarting and if i press a key, the character will appear on screen. It just doesnt do anything.
hopefully that all made sense.

Thanks - That got me into the actual install program. Now it freezes while loading the sata-sil drivers and says "disabling irq 10." any more ideas?
