floppy


fedora install

how do I get a floppy icon on the desktop

I am not able to read the floppy drive?

For KDE and a "Normal" installation & pc environment...

Right click on desktop.
Select: Create New => Device => Floppy Device
In Window: Select Device tab
Select: /dev/fd0 (/mnt/floppy)

Don't forget Linux requires floppies to be mounted and unmounted. Double clicking the first time will mount & open floppy directory in a window. You may "manually" mount and unmount my Right-Clicking on the floppy icon and selecting operation.
