Before I double-click the 'install to hard drive' icon, I have the system monitor and system logs open.
When I double click, the log starts filling (I would give a dump, but the system locks up).
Last entry in the log states "dbus avc received setenforce notice"
Monitor indicates my users memory at 187.9m of 249 or 75%, and used swap snaps to 25.6m of 25.6m or 100% at approx same time log and system 'freeze', requiring hard reboot.

So I suspect my swap memory. However, no clue how to increase. Suggestions?

system: 256 memory on old pentium III 886 mghz Dell 4100. Fedora6 was recently installed on 10g hd.

You have a Selinux problem , from the SU command line you would run the command /sbin/setenforce 0
which would put selinux in the permissive mode and prevent any further Selinux errors from popping up and stopping installation.
But I not so sure if you have the SU mode in the "Live Cd" mode.
After the installation, you do a "update", there are some updates for Selinux to fix some
of the Selinux problems. but not all.
I'm getting Selinux errors in Fedora 7, 8 .
