fc6 cannot install - adaptec 3210S scsi raid

I could not install fc6 on a system with a adaptec 3210S scsi raid card.
It loads the i2o drivers at the start of the intallation process, but is then unable to find the current installation or find a disk to install on.
The system runs fine on fc4. Did the i2o support for some adaptec raid cards get messed up in the 2.6.18 kernel ?

I'm not sure if anyone found a solution, but I'm also having the same problem.
