yum doesn't solve the dependances

Hi,
I thought that yum does same thing as apt ( from debian).
I create repository of a plenty of packages ( texlive* +lyx), as declared by the doc, I used createrepo to create the repo, every thing seemed correct,
But when I tried to install lyx which depends on texlive, with yum install lyx, It tried to install the lyx, without adding the required packages, so the installation is incomplete ??

May be I am wrong , yum does't solve the dependances or there is a particular way ??

thanks for help
bela

Just by change I have installed it yesterday with command as su of course
Yum install Lyx
It set op the install process ask me if I like to go on with is a standard question result all package including textlive totall download about 82 MB were installed and it works fine
Nearly never use the package manager mostly I work with yum
If you like to make easer you can also install yumex
Normally it takes care of the dependencies
