Warning when logging in: How to disablle?

Hello,

Every time I log in as a root in Fedora, I see this message warning me that I am logging in as root. Is there a way to disable it?

Thanks.

I know nothing about Fedora but it's probably something in root's (or the system's) shell initialization. Grep your dotfiles and/or /etc for the warning phrase and remove it. (I'd suggest setting your root PS1 to something different from your unprivileged PS1, though. But a warning message sounds annoying as hell.)

How often do you log in as root, and what are you doing. You could use su and sudo after logging in as a regular user. I've only logged in as root a handful of times over the course of several years. Head the warning!

I don't know which window manager you are running. It may be a program in /root/.kde/autostart/ or it might be a /root/.Xinitrc config file.

My system has a red wallpaper with a large bomb on the screen and caution signs all over. This is done for a reason. Get out of the habit of logging in as root. You aren't running Windows.

That's what I thought he meant - 'after giving the root password'. Perhaps that's my mistake. Either way, I forget people tend to start in a runlevel that kicks them into a GUI - I can't think of any reason to log in to X as root.

Folks,
I log in as root pretty much every time. And since this is a new test desktop installation, I really don't care if I screw up. I hate modal dialog boxes, and just want to get rid of this annoying warning message.
