Wanting some upgrade info about fedora.......

hey there, i am running RH8 and want to upgrade, i downloaded RH9 and was about to install that when i started reading about the Fedora Core Project. I was just wondering if i can upgrade my RH8 installation with the Fedora Core or do i have to do a clean install. Any other helpful hints would be appreciated as well.

Oh, and also i have a dual boot system with windows xp pro and RH8, not sure if this will be a problem with the upgrade or not.

you can upgrade youre RH8. download youre image-files and upgrade.
else you can use "up2date" or download and use "yum"
winxp will not be affected

While I don't have any first-hand experience upgrading RH8 to Fedora, I've ready several posts where people recommend against it. I think there's just too many changes between the two.

If your able to backup your data, I would personally do a clean install as I think you'll run into less problems. You shouldn't have any problems with dual booting either.

BTW, FC2 will be released on May 17. I'd wait until then before upgrading your system.

Changes? RH9 vs fedora?

Do you mean like kernel changes and such or do you mean like the rh flags and such?
