I am running Fedora 8 in my compaq presario V6000. Everything was working fine. Recently I upgraded it through yum. Now I see that the intensity of sound has been reduced drastically after the upgradation, even at 100% volume. Can anybody suggest how I can increase the intensity of sound?
Have you tried the mixer settings? If the mixer will adjust the sound level, then run on the command line;
'alsactl store' ( without the quotes ) one time. That will save your new settings, so on the next boot the correct level is loaded. 'alsactl restore' will restore the stored values.
