Screen Resolution Prob

Hi everyone,

Just installed FC5, and I like it a lot; think I'll remove Ex-Pee from my laptop and stick with Linux!

The problem I have is that FC5 will only give me a screen resolution of 800x600, and I really want 1280x800.

Could anybody please tell me how I can achieve this? I guess there must be a file I have to edit as the screen resolution app on the menu bar of Gnome won't offer me any other options.

Thnks very much in advance for any advice; cheers....

Yep, it's called /etc/X11/xorg.conf the link below has a section on this (Configuring your monitor). Which of the many, many video cards do you have??? Because you might want to follow the advice from nVidia and ATI graphics acceleration section also;
