I recently took SuSE 9.1 off of my system for Fedora Core 3. I did this because in FC2, things worked *cough* Sound *cough*.
Fedora booted, recognized eth0, my graphics cards, it installed smoothly, etc, etc. Right when I thought I was safe - wham. No sound.
I go into the mixer and turn up the sound for the speaker output (I needed to turn up the alternate one), and sound worked. Or so I thought :-)
It turns out sounds repeat themselves under ALSA, OSS, and ARTS. Especially in Gaim, if someone sent a message. All I would get for about a minute is a 2 to 5 second segment of a sound, repeating itself over and over. Then, it would move on the next 2-5 second segment until the sound completed.
I've only had this once before, on SuSE 9.1 (But it didnt happen on the install before, and a re-install fixed it.)
Has anyone had a similar problem? I need sound, its vital to my being (Must..listen..to Supertramp...), and I know FC2 had it working, so whats the deal? =P
