Process 'update' and bdflush

I am running FC3 with kernel version 2.6.11-1.14_FC3. After the system booted, dmesg shows the following.
--------- Begin ------------
warning: process `update' used the obsolete bdflush system call
Fix your initscripts?
warning: process `update' used the obsolete bdflush system call

--------- End --------------

I commented out the 'udpate' in /etc/inittab, then it won't show up. But, that is not the solution. What does this above warning messages mean and how to fix it?

All help is appreciated.
