PC starts up in "Grub"-mode after installation of fedora core 11 - HD not recognised
Hi,
I want to upgrade from fedora 7 to 11 by doing a clean install of fc11 on my machine.
Everything runs well until at the end of the installation process (when you click restart) the DVD is not ejected. DVD stays inside DVD-drive.
That's the first problem.
Then when the system reboots, I start up in "grub" -mode. The system doen't try to load image.
I get something like this:
GRUB>
In order to boot the system I try to connect my HD by entering
GRUB>root (hd0,0)
However the system responds with
Error 21 : disk does not exist
Has anybody any idea why the system behaves like this. Why we start up in GRUB-mode and why the system doen't find the grub.conf on my boot section?
Is there anybody who had a similar system behavior when installing fc11 from scratch?
Kind regards,R.
