Network confusion

I'm in the process of adding a network card to FC3.

It's a wireless card and a bit tricky but I got the card detected, it lists with lspci
It also has an alias in modprobe.conf

I manually created an entry under
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ath0

The card also got detected through kudzu and I entered the config there.

What confuses me is that there is an entry for ifcfg-eth0 under
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/
/ets/sysconfig/networking/devices
/ets/sysconfig/networking/profiles/default

but the ifcfg-ath0 does only exist under network-scripts

Should I copy the file to the other paths manually?

What places thse files in /networking?

tx

The simple answer to the question is... I don't think it matters...

I have done similar thing to you (on my FC4 but using ASUS USB wireless) and
I actually put the configuration file in all 3 places!

After I have done it, it is matter of getting the network management demons to read these files.. (i.e. re-boot you machine or re-start the network management demons)

One small piece of advice on FC4.. If you think you are doing everything correct and nothing happen, re-boot your machine... I know it sounds silly and very naive but it works for me!

do post your outcome success/or not !!!

good luck
