I had Fedora Core 3 and recently decided to upgrade to Fedora Core 4. However, I'm having trouble booting it up. All I get is a messed up looking, garbled screen. This happen to me when I first installed Fedora Core 3. I know I have to get in via text mode (init 3) and yum update my kernel and all the other stuff to get it to boot properly. The problem is that a forgot how get it to start at init 3 so some help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently running a MSI nForce4 board with PCIE using a 6600 gt card hence the problem with X (Fedora doesn't seem to like PCIE too much)

I figured out how to start up in text mode but at last, yummed all morning but Linux still does not work.

Anyone know how to get the nvidia driver while in comman prompt?

Downloaded the nVidia driver in Windows and had to import it from their. Installed it and FC4 works now.
