Listing hardware details in FC5

I am used to having utilities, such as HardDrake, that allows me to see a full list of all of the hardware that has been detected. How can I access such a list in Fedora Core 5?

yum install hwbrowser

unfortunately the package didn't make a menu entry under gnome for me, so you may also need to

yum install alacarte

then manually add an entry for proggy under system tools (that's where the FC4 package puts the icon anyway).

I recall FC4 had a hardware browser under admin tools.

Of course there is always the commandline tools.

What do ya know, so that's where yum put the icon. Once the hwbrowser package is installed icon will be under System --> Administration --> Hardware in GNOME's menu. Could have sworn the FC4 package put it in System Tools though... anyway.

So, you can skip the alacarte installation then, unless Linspire-like idiot proofing bothers you as much as it does me, in which case you'll probably want to keep it and rename menu entries like "email" and "word processor" to "Evolution" and "OpenOffice Writer".
